"The recognition of Peach in Verona IGP is further evidence that food products are a great Venetian flag of our Made in Italy. In this region, there is a heritage of excellence, which represents one of the spearheads of our domestic agriculture. " Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Luca Zaia welcomes the recognition of Peaches in Verona PGI, in the register of protected designations by the European Commission.

The application for recognition was published in the Official Journal of the European Union last June. After six months for the submission of any instances of opposition by the other member countries, the regulation on registration of the new names will be published shortly in the Official Journal.
