Application for recognition as IGP of Asparago of Badoere

"With
the publication of the application for recognition as IGP dell'Asparago
of Badoere, another product of the Veneto is added to the list of fine
local productions of the Region. The
cultivation of asparagus is an activity strongly rooted in the culture
of their territory of origin, where the cultivation techniques were
passed down from generation to generation and have made asparagus
Badoere one of the most valuable production realities of the Veneto. "
With
these words the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Luca Zaia said the
publication in the Official Journal of the European demand for
recognition as a PGI dell'Asparago Badoere. From
this moment, and within six months, the procedure requires that Member
States may send the Commission their opposition to any instances of
recognition.
The
particular combination of inputs such as manual el'artigianalità,
together with the factors soil and climate of the area where Badoere
asparagus is grown, allowing this product to differentiate itself with
determination, by the whole area of reference. The
two types of asparagus, white and green, are characterized by rapid
development, thus ensuring that shoots from the physical point of view
of little fibrosis and a color particularly well.
